Beautiful Shifts
Honest conversations on life’s transitions & shifts. New perspectives, finding beauty together. We are Lindsay and Shantil - two friends who love good conversation, connection, and expanding our view of the human experience. While going through our own life transitions, we began recognizing many extraordinary shifts in the ordinary lives of people around us. In awe of their ability to find beauty amidst challenge and change, we created this space to share these inspiring stories. Through this podcast, we hope to bring the concept Fred Roger’s loved and explained so well to life, ”Frankly, there isn’t anyone you couldn’t learn to love once you’ve heard their story.” Follow along on Instagram @beautifulshifts_podcast and on Facebook where we share episode updates, photos of guests, video clips, and more. Thank you for listening!

Jackie shares how her son Riley, at age 17, was diagnosed with cancer, and the years following where he fought the illness with Jackie loving and supporting him each step of the way. Jackie's story is touching and powerful as she shares with us lessons she has learned through her experiences.
Six years ago Jackie, with Riley's help and natural eagerness to help others in need, organized a charity to give back to families affected by cancer at Christmas time. In loving memory of Riley, Jackie has grown the organization over the years, now known as Christmas for Cancer Families. Earlier this year it became an official non-profit organization. This will be their sixth year giving back to families affected by cancer organizing home makeovers, sub for Santas, and sending families on vacations.
Jackie is an interior designer and the owner of Jackie Culley Design. She has taught group fitness for 20 years and opened her own yoga studio in 2016. Jackie is the owner and founder of Christmas for Cancer Families and plans to continue to expand the organization's reach.

Ryan shares his story of leaving corporate America to start his own interior design firm, Smart Studio Designs, even when he felt it was risky and too late. Ryan has lived in a variety of places introducing him to people and cultures that have shaped who he has become today. His story is sprinkled with interesting and important life lessons he has learned along the way, including seeking help for anxiety when needed.
Ryan helps us see the reward is in the journey, that we can look back and find beauty in our individual paths, and that fear is normal, but not to miss out on what the other side of fear has to offer.
